Size: It measures approximately 63 to 100 cm.

Habitat: The American porcupine lives in forests, leafy or coniferous groves and rocky outcrops.
Food: It eats the buds, leaves and stems of shrubs and plants, nuts, fruits and the inner bark of trees.
